Renée is the founding Vice Chairman of the Rivers Performance Hall Foundation, as well as a founding executive board member of the Charleston Gaillard Center. Serving as President & CEO of the Rivers Performance Hall Foundation and Chief Advancement Officer for the Charleston Gaillard Center, she also chairs the Gaillard Center board’s first Artistic Programming Committee.
Renée’s regional and national involvement in educational leadership includes graduate education, higher education, and institutional advancement consulting, fundraising, and training. Spending more than twenty years as associate dean for graduate education for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and thirteen years in institutional advancement and development there, her tenure concluded with the successful completion of UNC’s $2.4 billion Carolina First Campaign.
She retired in 2003 as associate dean of Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. While remaining active at UNC-Chapel Hill, Renée also serves on the Board of Governors at the College of Charleston School of Business.
